Hindustan Zinc Achieves New Records In Mining And Refined Metal Production Daily Udaipur

Udaipur, April 3: Hindustan Zinc Limited has set remarkable records in mining and refined metal production for the fourth quarter and the entire fiscal year 2026.

In the fourth quarter (4QFY26), the company’s mining metal production reached 315 kilotons, marking its best quarterly performance to date. This increase was made possible by higher ore production and improved grades. During the same period, refined metal production soared to a record 282 kilotons, driven by additional capacity from debottlenecking projects at Chanderiya and Dariba, enhanced operational efficiency, and high plant availability. Silver production stood at 176 metric tons, reflecting an 11% increase compared to the previous quarter, aligning with lead production levels. Wind energy generation was recorded at 56 million units, consistent with wind speeds.

For the fiscal year 2026, the company’s mining metal production reached an all-time high of 1,114 kilotons, attributed to increased ore production and better grades. Refined zinc production was 851 kilotons, indicating a 3% annual growth. This growth was facilitated by the commissioning of debottlenecking projects, a 160 KTPA roster, and year-round zinc-lead mode pyro operations.

Conversely, refined lead production was 197 kilotons, representing a 13% annual decline. This decrease was primarily due to partial lead mode operations during pyro processes and reduced plant availability over the past year. Annual silver production totaled 627 metric tons, consistent with lead production levels, but was impacted by lower silver input from mines due to mining sequencing.
