New Delhi, July 28: Rajasthan BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore has raised concerns regarding the funding of the student movement led by the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He has urged the government to investigate the alleged foreign financial support behind the protests.

Speaking to the media in Parliament, Rathore stated that information circulating on social media and various news outlets suggests that food was booked for the protesters from abroad, including Dubai, Kuwait, and Bangladesh. He emphasized the need to trace the sources of expenses related to food, accommodation, and other arrangements during the movement.

Rathore claimed that a person involved in mobile repair had reportedly sent food worth around 1 million rupees. He questioned how someone with a limited income could manage such a large sum. Rathore insisted that this is a legitimate question that requires a fair investigation by the relevant agencies.

However, no government investigative agency has publicly confirmed these allegations regarding foreign funding and food bookings. These claims are currently based on statements from BJP leaders and information circulating on social media.

Mahesh Jethmalani Questions Funding Sources
Senior advocate and BJP leader Mahesh Jethmalani also raised questions about the funding of the CJP movement by sharing a viral video on social media. The video allegedly shows CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka dancing in a hotel in Delhi, reportedly celebrating the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Jethmalani questioned who financed the travel, food, accommodation, and other arrangements for the protesters during the prolonged movement. He called for transparency regarding the financial sources of the protests. However, the circumstances surrounding the viral video and the associated claims have not been independently verified.

Rathore Defends Dharmendra Pradhan
Madan Rathore defended Dharmendra Pradhan, stating that he had no personal fault in his role as Education Minister. He accused certain political and ideological groups of targeting Pradhan by using students as a front. According to Rathore, Pradhan accomplished many positive initiatives in the education sector during his tenure before voluntarily resigning.

Following a nationwide student movement against exam paper leaks, Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his position as Union Education Minister on July 25, 2026. Subsequently, the CJP announced the conclusion of their protest at Jantar Mantar.

Government Serious About Youth’s Future: Rathore
Rathore asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been serious about the future of youth and students. He mentioned that fast-track courts will be established to expedite the resolution of cases related to paper leaks and irregularities in examinations.

On July 23, 2026, the Prime Minister stated that fast-track courts would be set up to ensure swift punishment for those guilty of paper leaks and to expedite case resolutions. Relevant departments have been instructed to take necessary actions.

Rathore emphasized the need for strict legal provisions to prevent cheating and paper leaks. He welcomed the government’s initiatives, stating that maintaining transparency in examinations and restoring students’ trust should be a top priority.
