If you’re in the market for a powerful electric SUV, Mahindra is gearing up to make a strong impression. The Mahindra XEV 7e—an all-electric version of the popular XUV700—has been spotted during testing. From its design to its features and performance capabilities, this upcoming SUV is already creating buzz. Let’s take a closer look at what makes the XEV 7e special.

Design
Starting with the design, the recently spotted Mahindra XEV 7e closely resembles the XUV700 but incorporates distinctive electric elements. The front grille is sealed to improve aerodynamics—a signature trait of modern EVs. The SUV also features inverted L-shaped LED DRLs and aero-optimized dual-tone alloy wheels for a futuristic appeal.
Flush-fitting door handles, similar to those seen on the XEV 9e and BE 6, add to the sleek aesthetics. A panoramic sunroof gives it a premium feel. While the overall silhouette mirrors the XUV700, these refined elements mark the XEV 7e as part of Mahindra’s evolving electric vehicle family.
Interior and Features
Inside, the XEV 7e is expected to offer a cabin experience similar to the XEV 9e, packed with advanced technology and luxury features. Highlights include a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo, a three-piece dashboard design, and an integrated infotainment and driver display system.
Ambient lighting and a remote parking assistant are also expected, along with new color options and upgraded materials to enhance the cabin’s appeal and comfort.
Range and Performance
Built on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO platform—specifically developed for electric vehicles—the XEV 7e will offer two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. These could deliver a driving range of up to 600 km on a single charge. The entry-level variant will come with a single motor setup, while the top-end model could feature a dual-motor AWD system producing up to 325 bhp.
Launch Timeline
While Mahindra hasn’t officially announced a launch date, sources suggest the XEV 7e could debut by the end of 2025. A teaser is likely to be unveiled during Mahindra’s EV Festival on August 15, 2025. Once launched, the XEV 7e will slot between the BE 6 and XEV 9e in Mahindra’s growing EV lineup.
