
New Delhi, August 7: On the occasion of National Handloom Day, Jaipur MP Manju Sharma visited the Handloom House on Khardak Singh Marg in New Delhi. She supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ by purchasing khadi and handloom products for her family. She emphasized that every purchase made by citizens can significantly uplift countless weavers.
Sharma expressed her commitment to supporting local artisans by buying khadi garments and various products linked to the khadi village industry.
“Handloom is a symbol of our cultural heritage”
Sharma stated that India’s handloom tradition is not just a craft of textile production; it embodies the nation’s cultural heritage, self-reliance, and the hard work of millions. She highlighted that every thread of khadi reinforces the spirit of indigenous pride and self-sufficiency.

The MP noted that Prime Minister Modi has urged citizens to buy products made by handloom weavers on National Handloom Day. She stressed that this call goes beyond mere shopping; it is crucial for the employment, dignity, and livelihoods of millions of weaver families.
