PM Modi Flags Off Ayodhya Flight from Hisar, Lays Foundation for New Airport Terminal
NEW DELHI Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, laid the foundation stone of the new terminal at Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar and flagged off a new commercial flight to Ayodhya. During his address, PM Modi reflected on his association with Haryana and emphasized the role of a “double engine government” in fostering rapid development across India.

Highlighting his commitment to grassroots upliftment, PM Modi stated, “Every policy, every decision, every step of our government in the last 11 years is dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of the poor, marginalized, and women — inspired by Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideals.”
Sharp Attack on Congress: “They Tried to Erase Ambedkar’s Legacy”
In a strong political offensive, PM Modi criticized the Congress party’s historical treatment of Dr. Ambedkar, accusing it of trying to erase his legacy. “When Babasaheb was alive, Congress insulted him. He lost elections twice, and they tried to eliminate his ideas from national memory,” Modi alleged.
He further claimed that Congress treated SCs, STs, and OBCs as second-class citizens, contrasting their own elite lifestyles with the deprivation of basic amenities in rural India. “While Congress leaders had swimming pools, in villages, only 16 out of 100 homes had piped water—and the worst-affected were the Dalits, tribals, and backward classes,” he said.
Congress and the Waqf Act: “Appeasement Over Empowerment”
The Prime Minister also took aim at the Waqf Act, calling it a prime example of Congress’s appeasement politics. “Congress tried to please a handful of fundamentalists. The broader Muslim community remained poor, uneducated, and underdeveloped,” he remarked.
He questioned the party’s selective politics, asking, “Why doesn’t Congress ever make a Muslim the President of India?” He accused the Karnataka Congress government of withdrawing rights from backward communities and giving reservation based on religion, which Dr. Ambedkar explicitly opposed.
Modi asserted that the new provisions under the reformed Waqf law would ensure tribal lands are protected from any unauthorized claim and that poor Muslim families, widows, and children will now receive rightful protection and welfare. “This is true social justice,” he declared.
Vision for a Developed Haryana and India
Modi reiterated his government’s vision of connecting rural aspirations with national development, promising air travel accessibility even for the poorest. “My promise was that even those in slippers will fly in planes. That promise is becoming reality,” he said.
With Ayodhya now connected directly to Hisar, PM Modi lauded Haryana’s contributions to sports and agriculture and expressed confidence in its role in building a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
