Jaipur, June 6: The recent incident of violence involving a raid team from the Agriculture Department in Sikar is escalating into a political controversy. Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena have exchanged sharp statements on social media platform X. Both leaders have targeted each other, raising questions about corruption, actions taken, and the interests of farmers.
Dotasra questioned the legitimacy of the raid, stating that if the members of the raiding team are allegedly involved in corruption, what is the point of such actions? He accused the team of conducting raids only to later attempt to extort money through alleged negotiations. Dotasra emphasized that the public deserves to know why there has been no clear action from the government or the agriculture minister regarding the allegations of corruption and blackmail.
In response to Dotasra’s accusations, Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena issued a strong rebuttal. He stated that if Dotasra can prove even one allegation of corruption against him, he would be ready to resign immediately. Meena asserted that he has fought against corruption throughout his life and that there is no question of him protecting any corrupt activities.
Meena further claimed that Dotasra is making baseless accusations out of personal malice. He reminded that Sikar is not only Dotasra’s constituency but also his own, and it is his responsibility to protect the interests of farmers there. He described the attack on the raid team as an assault on the government’s authority and the rule of law. Meena urged the opposition not to support the attackers and to cooperate in a fair investigation.
Following the Sikar incident, the political climate in the state has intensified with accusations flying back and forth.
