Mumbai, September 12: Professor Ramesh Kumar Rawat, a resident of Chomu, has prayed for the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming local body elections in Rajasthan. Currently based in Gangtok, he visited prominent sites including Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, and the Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple near the India-China border.
Professor Rawat expressed his hopes for the BJP to secure a majority in the Chomu Municipal Council. He specifically wished for the success of Ashish Dusad, the BJP candidate from Ward No. 22, and for him to be elected as the chairperson of the council.
Ashish Dusad has previously served as the president of the Chomu Municipality. Professor Rawat noted that during his tenure, Dusad earned the trust of local residents through his dedicated public service. He emphasized that during the election campaign, Dusad prioritized issues such as cleanliness, street lighting, drinking water, and addressing the monkey problem in the municipality.
The elections were conducted on September 9 across all 45 wards of the Chomu Municipal Council. The BJP ran the campaign under the leadership of Ram Lal Sharma, the party’s state spokesperson and former MLA from Chomu. Voter enthusiasm was notable during the polling process.
Professor Ramesh Rawat is optimistic that if the BJP forms the council, it will effectively address the pending civic issues in Chomu. He stressed the importance of a strong municipal council board for the city’s development and improvement of basic amenities. The election results for the Chomu Municipal Council will be announced on September 14, following the counting of votes, which will reveal the political dynamics of the council.
