Jaipur, June 11: Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena has publicly addressed the ongoing political turmoil surrounding alleged corruption and bribery linked to the state’s agriculture department and seed corporation. Speaking at a public gathering in Rajoli village, he responded to accusations made by the Congress party, asserting that instead of shielding those involved in corruption, he has taken decisive action against them.
In recent days, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has made several arrests, prompting Congress to target Meena and demand his resignation. In response, the minister dismissed these allegations, emphasizing that his political career has been defined by a fight against corruption and that no one can question his integrity.
While addressing the crowd, Meena acknowledged that some individuals who faced action may have been in close contact with him, but he claimed he was unaware of their activities. He admitted that some associates engaged in wrongdoing, but he intervened as soon as he became aware of the situation.
Meena stated that recent news regarding the agriculture department and seed corporation has been exploited by his political opponents to undermine him. He made it clear that anyone misusing his name for corrupt practices would not receive protection under any circumstances.
He asserted that no one would be allowed to jeopardize farmers’ interests or spread corruption in his name. The minister claimed that he played a significant role in bringing those who faced action within the bounds of the law.
This entire matter is linked to the alleged bribery case currently under investigation by the ACB. Following multiple arrests by the agency, the opposition has consistently questioned the government’s and agriculture department’s operations. Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra and several other opposition leaders have called for the minister to take moral responsibility.
