Udaipurs Literary Voices Shine at National Writers Conference

Udaipur, March 31: The National Writers’ Conference was successfully held at the Manasarovar Complex in Abu Road, organized by the Sirohi Literary Forum and the Brahma Kumaris Institute. Esteemed speakers included historian Dr. Shrikrishna Jugnu, writer Dr. Husaini Bohra, and theater director Sunil Tank from Udaipur.

On the first day, three sessions took place. The inaugural session began with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Following this, the first intellectual session featured a rich discussion on “Current Circumstances and Hindi Writing.” Guljari Bhai, a representative of the Brahma Kumaris Institute, expressed his best wishes for the conference, emphasizing the enduring importance of literature and writers in society. The first day concluded with other sessions.

On the second day, the first session focused on “Current Challenges in Hindi Theatre and Drama.” Dr. Shrikrishna Jugnu highlighted Rajasthan’s rich theatrical tradition, citing the ‘Gawari’ folk drama as a vibrant example. He also mentioned the organization of multilingual plays in Udaipur.

Theater director Sunil Tank shed light on the challenges faced in the acting field, noting that the growing influence of films and OTT platforms has impacted theater. He stressed the need for new initiatives to increase audience interest in plays.

The second session addressed “Media and Hindi Literature.” Dr. Shrikrishna Jugnu discussed the evolving relationship between literature and media, stating that adapting to modern media is essential for preserving literature. Meanwhile, Dr. Husaini Bohra clarified the interconnections between media and literature, explaining how platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp have facilitated rapid communication between creators and readers. He noted that media has always played a role in development, whether in the era of print or electronic media.

Writers, playwrights, poets, and authors from various parts of the country shared their insights during the conference. In the closing session, all guests and speakers were honored with mementos.

Dr. Vibha Saxena, the coordinator of the National Writers’ Conference, expressed gratitude for the successful event and highlighted its significance. She thanked everyone involved for their contributions.
