51 Couples Unite in a Grand Mass Wedding Ceremony for the Disabled and Economically Weaker

Udaipur, March 16: The Narayan Seva Sansthan, a leading organization in the field of empowering the disabled and promoting social harmony, successfully hosted its 45th mass wedding ceremony for the disabled and economically weaker individuals at Seva Mahatirth in Lion Ka Guda. This two-day event concluded with a powerful message of national unity, equal opportunities, and human compassion.

During the grand ceremony, 51 couples from various states across the country embarked on a new journey of marital life, taking vows in the presence of sacred fire and Vedic chants.

The couples included individuals facing various disabilities—some with mobility impairments, others visually impaired, and some requiring assistance to walk. These couples, who have navigated life’s challenges, now stand together as pillars of strength for one another, moving towards a brighter future.

Notably, many of the couples received free corrective surgeries, prosthetics, calipers, and rehabilitation services from the organization. They also took steps towards self-sufficiency through training in sewing, mobile repair, computer skills, and more. Their search for life partners was also facilitated by the organization.

Among the 51 couples, 25 were disabled, while 26 belonged to economically weaker sections.

Madhu Bhoyi, a resident of Khem pura in Udaipur, is disabled in her left leg but leads an independent life. After her father’s passing, she supported her family by working at a beauty parlor. Her husband, Santosh Lodha from Naulana village in Indore, was affected by paralysis at six months old but is now a teacher. Their introduction at an event and communication via mobile led them to the sacred wedding ceremony.

Rajesh, a resident of Morena in Madhya Pradesh, is disabled due to a congenital foot deformity. Despite this, he runs an E-Mitra center, supporting his family with confidence. His wife, Rajkumari from Barouna village in Bhind district, is hearing impaired. They met at a social event, and their relationship blossomed into marriage.

Traditional Welcome Amid Auspicious Sounds for 51 Couples

At 10 AM on March 15, all 51 couples were welcomed with traditional instruments and auspicious sounds. In the presence of dignitaries, supporters, and family members from across the country, the ceremonial arch was joyfully completed with Vedic chants alongside the revered image of Lord Shri Nath Ji.

Floral Showers and Blessings Mark the Beginning of New Lives

At 12:15 PM, the newlyweds received blessings from the organization’s founder, Padma Shri Kailash ‘Manav’ Ji, and Mrs. Kamla Devi, on a flower-adorned stage. In the presence of President Prashant Agarwal, Director Vandana Agarwal, and Palak Agarwal, the couples exchanged garlands, signifying their acceptance of each other as life partners. The atmosphere was filled with joy as rose petals rained down.

Vedic Chants Witnessed by Fire: Seven Vows for a New Life

Fifty-one priests conducted the seven rounds as per Vedic traditions, guided by a chief priest. Donors, social workers, representatives from various branches of the organization, and family members witnessed this historic moment.

Inspiring Stories of Success Shared by Former Couples

Successful and self-sufficient couples from previous years also attended the ceremony. They shared their experiences, highlighting how the organization’s support has enabled them to live with dignity and confidence, fully integrated into society.

Gifts for a New Household: A Fresh Start for Couples

Each couple received essential items to start their new household, including beds, bedding, cupboards, utensils, gas stoves, dinner sets, fans, and wall clocks. Guests and donors also presented mangalsutras, bangles, chains, earrings, toe rings, and beauty products.

Cultural Performances and Emotional Farewells

The event featured dance dramas based on the marriages of Shiva-Parvati and Krishna-Rukmini, elevating the cultural significance of the occasion. The symbolic farewell of the newlyweds in a decorated palanquin added an emotional touch, as the organization bid them farewell with teary eyes, ensuring their safe return to their hometowns.

A Celebration of Devotion: The Venue Filled with Divine Presence

The program was enriched by the presence of Krishna’s five forms—Dwarkadhish Ji, Sanwariya Seth Ji, Khatu Shyam Ji, Vitthal Ji, and Shri Nath Ji. Following this, the 51 couples performed the garland ceremony amid blessings from various deities.

Building a Harmonious India through Service and Compassion—Prashant Agarwal

Prashant Agarwal, the organization’s president, stated, “The aim of Narayan Seva Sansthan is not just to facilitate marriages but to provide the disabled with respect, confidence, and opportunities for self-reliance. When society progresses with compassion and service, a harmonious and empowered India becomes possible.”

The event was attended by chief guests Darshana Mehta, Yash Mehta, Om Prakash Soni, and many social workers, donors, and guests. It is noteworthy that the organization has successfully facilitated the marriages of 2,510 disabled and economically weaker individuals, with most families now leading happy lives.
