BIS Raids Amazon Warehouse in Jaipur, Seizes 2,678 Non-Standard Products Worth Over ₹1 Crore

The estimated market value of the seized items goes beyond 1 crore, based upon their optimum market price (MRP).

BIS Warns of Lawful Repercussions for Violators

As per the BIS Act, 2016, it is illegal to make, shop, sell, or import items detailed under obligatory accreditation without a legitimate BIS permit. The offense of these arrangements drops under Section 29 of the BIS Act, which treats it as a cognizable and culpable offense.

• Minimum penalty of 2 lakh for the very first offense
