Udaipur, April 28: The political climate in Rajasthan is heating up as statements regarding Sachin Pilot intensify. BJP state president Madan Rathore has responded sharply to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot‘s remarks, suggesting that Gehlot still views Pilot as a ‘child.’
During a media interaction before the ‘Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Training Mahabhiyan’ state planning meeting at the BJP headquarters in Jaipur, Rathore stated that Gehlot’s comments indicate he does not regard Pilot as a serious leader.
Rathore remarked, “Gehlot mentioned he made a mistake before but won’t repeat it, implying someone had influenced him. This shows he still sees Pilot as a kid. He is not a child.” He further added that the publicity Sachin Pilot receives from the BJP surpasses that from his own former Chief Minister.
‘Only His Legs Are Considered’
Rathore also criticized Gehlot’s statement where he claimed, “Sachin Pilot has both legs in Congress and will remain there.” Rathore pointed out, “He didn’t say the whole truth, revealing his true feelings. Gehlot only considers Pilot’s legs to be with him, not the whole person.”
Controversy Sparked by ‘Imposter’ Comment
The controversy began when BJP’s Rajasthan in-charge, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, referred to Sachin Pilot as an ‘imposter’ due to his shifting political roles. In defense, Gehlot stated, “Sachin Pilot has both legs in Congress and will stay with us. He won’t leave us.” Gehlot also remarked that those who previously took Congress leaders to Manesar will have their intentions remain unfulfilled.
Escalating Political Rhetoric
Following the ‘imposter’ comment, the verbal conflict between BJP and Congress has intensified. The BJP claims this is indicative of internal strife within Congress, while Congress questions the language and political culture of the BJP. Amidst the evolving political dynamics in Rajasthan, this exchange has further fueled the political atmosphere.
