Jaipur, April 28: The BJP’s in-charge for Rajasthan, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, is once again at the center of political discussions due to his controversial statements. Recently, he referred to Congress leader Sachin Pilot as a “bahuroopi” (impersonator), prompting sharp reactions within the state’s political landscape. This is not the first time Agarwal’s remarks have stirred controversy; he had previously labeled Hanuman Beniwal, the leader of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP), as a “chuha” (mouse).
Political analysts believe that Dr. Agarwal is an experienced and strategic leader. As a physician with a strong political base in Gorakhpur, he is well aware of the reactions his statements will provoke. This understanding leads many to view his recent comments as an attempt to create “strategic political noise.”
Impact of Social Media and YouTube Politics?
Discussions in political circles suggest that Dr. Agarwal has closely studied the dynamics of social media and YouTube politics in Rajasthan. Names like Sachin Pilot, Hanuman Beniwal, Kirodi Lal Meena, and Ravindra Singh Bhati frequently dominate discussions and garner significant reach on various YouTube channels. It is believed that Agarwal has targeted these figures to position himself at the center of political discourse. Given that Kirodi Lal Meena is a minister in the BJP government and Ravindra Singh Bhati is seen as a potential future leader, the focus appears to be on opposing figures.
Previous Controversies
Earlier, when Dr. Agarwal made comments about Sachin Pilot, young Congress leaders and NSUI workers protested, displaying black flags in Udaipur. Following this, Agarwal stated that if any harm came to him, Sachin Pilot would be responsible. At that time, Pilot advised his supporters to remain calm, and the situation gradually de-escalated. Subsequently, during another visit, Agarwal called Hanuman Beniwal a “chuha,” prompting a sharp response from Beniwal, who warned that “if he speaks nonsense, he will be dealt with.” After this incident, Agarwal’s visits to Rajasthan ceased for a while, and the matter cooled down.
This Time, More Attention on the In-Charge than the National President
In recent developments, during the visit of BJP National President Nitin Naveen to Rajasthan, Agarwal launched another attack on Sachin Pilot. This shift in focus resulted in more discussions surrounding Agarwal’s statements than the national president’s visit.
This time, not only Pilot’s supporters but also the Gahlot faction rallied in support of him. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gahlot seized the opportunity to gain political mileage. Political analysts note that this controversy overshadowed the disarray witnessed during the national president’s welcome event in Jaipur.
Political Decorum or Strategy?
Questions are now being raised about whether this rhetoric is merely a slip of the tongue or a calculated strategy. The debate over the decorum of language in Rajasthan’s politics is intensifying. However, it is also true that in recent years, numerous leaders have crossed the boundaries of acceptable language. Currently, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal’s statements have sparked a new debate in Rajasthan’s politics—whether this is a strategic controversy or unnecessary rhetoric. The impact of this situation may soon be visible in the political landscapes of both the BJP and Congress.
