Panchayat 4 continues to dominate the streaming charts, gaining popularity with each new twist. But while the series receives overwhelming love, a recent scene has triggered an unexpected wave of online hate—specifically targeting actress Sunita Rajwar, who plays the controversial character Kranti Devi.

The Scene That Sparked Controversy
In a dramatic moment from the latest season, Kranti Devi engages in a heated confrontation with Khushboo, the pregnant wife of Vikas. During the altercation, Kranti Devi accuses Khushboo of having an illicit relationship with Deputy Pradhan Prahlad. While the scene was scripted as part of the storyline, many viewers were offended by the harsh dialogue and tone, directing their anger toward Sunita Rajwar herself on social media.
“My Inbox Is Full of Abuses,” Says Sunita Rajwar
Sunita Rajwar recently broke her silence on the backlash. Speaking candidly, she shared,
“People are abusing me terribly. They’re asking how I could say such horrible things to a pregnant woman. Some are cursing, others are trolling.”
Despite the harsh criticism, Rajwar remains unshaken. In fact, she views the intense reactions as a testament to her powerful performance.
“My Instagram inbox is flooded with hateful messages, but in a way, this response has boosted my confidence—I know I’ve portrayed the role with complete honesty.”
“We Just Laughed Reading the Comments”
Rajwar added that she and her husband read many of the messages together and couldn’t help but laugh at the emotional intensity fans attached to a fictional series.
“People forget that this is just a character, not real life,” she said, even hinting at the idea of making a reel based on some of the comments. For her, the trolling felt like a badge of honor, affirming how convincingly she brought Kranti Devi to life.
Clarifying the Scene in Context
Offering context to the controversial exchange, Rajwar explained:
“In the same episode, Manju Devi (played by Neena Gupta) makes a snide comment about my character’s rumored links with the local MLA. I just responded in character—with equal sharpness and attitude.”
She clarified that the scene wasn’t a personal attack, but a part of the character’s arc. While Kranti Devi may come across as negative, Rajwar emphasizes that she won’t be issuing personal clarifications, as she was simply performing her role.
Panchayat Season 5 on the Horizon
The Panchayat series, produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), features a stellar cast including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, and Chandan Roy. Season 4 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and fans will be thrilled to know that Season 5 is already in production and is expected to drop on OTT platforms next year.
