Barcelona, March 1: Honor has taken the stage at MWC 2026 to showcase its ambitions beyond traditional smartphones. Alongside the new Magic V6 foldable, the company introduced its highly anticipated Robot Phone, confirming that it will be available for purchase later this year. This announcement highlights Honor’s strategy to stand out in an increasingly competitive premium market.
Honor Robot Phone Features and Launch Timeline
The Robot Phone is a sophisticated smartphone equipped with a motorized camera arm that extends from the rear panel. This innovative module features a 200-megapixel main sensor and is touted as the smallest 4DoF gimbal system in the industry. The arm can extend, rotate, and stabilize footage, providing subject tracking for videos and enabling hands-free shooting. Demonstrations showed the camera smoothly following moving subjects, catering specifically to creators and vloggers.
Additionally, Honor has incorporated AI-driven interactions. Users can engage with the assistant, and the camera module can respond with physical gestures like nodding or shaking, adding a fun, robotic touch. When not in use, the camera retracts neatly into the device. While full specifications are yet to be revealed, Honor has confirmed that the Robot Phone will launch commercially in China in the second half of 2026.
At the same event, Honor also teased a compact humanoid robot that performed simple tasks on stage, although specific technical details were sparse. The overarching message was clear: the brand aims to distinguish itself in a market where many flagship devices appear similar, especially as rising memory chip costs are projected to increase smartphone prices in 2026.
Honor Robot Phone Price and Availability
Honor has not disclosed the price for the Robot Phone, indicating that the initial rollout will be limited to China. Given its advanced gimbal mechanism and premium positioning, the device is expected to target the higher end of the market. Global availability, including potential pricing in India, remains unconfirmed at this time.
