Mumbai, March 4:
In recent days, OnePlus has been unveiling key features of the upcoming OnePlus 15T. A new announcement from a company executive highlights that this device will offer exceptional water resistance. Here’s a closer look at the latest details that have emerged.
OnePlus 15T to Feature IP68/69/69K Ratings
According to Li Jie, the president of OnePlus China, the OnePlus 15T will boast enhanced water resistance capabilities. The smartphone is anticipated to support IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, potentially making it one of the few devices on the market with such comprehensive protection. If confirmed, it may also be the only compact flagship to offer all four certifications simultaneously.
These ratings signify resistance to dust and water exposure under various conditions. Notably, the IP69K standard indicates that the device can endure high-pressure water jets and elevated temperatures during washing. Devices with this rating can function even when subjected to water pressure of approximately 100 bar and temperatures up to 80°C.
This level of durability suggests that the phone may perform reliably in harsh environments, such as heavy rain, hot water splashes, or intense cleaning scenarios. For everyday users, this could provide added peace of mind during outdoor activities, travel, or accidental water exposure.
Expected Specifications and Design Features
The OnePlus 15T is also expected to deliver flagship-level hardware. Reports indicate it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, with configurations reaching up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Benchmark listings on AnTuTu suggest scores exceeding 4.45 million, indicating impressive performance.
The device is rumored to feature a 6.32-inch compact display with extremely narrow and symmetrical bezels. Company executives have hinted that it may have one of the slimmest visual borders seen on a small smartphone.
Battery capacity is expected to reach 7,500mAh, supported by 100W fast charging. Camera specifications may include a 200-megapixel or 50-megapixel main camera, along with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, a modified version of the device, branded as OnePlus 15s, is anticipated to launch in markets outside of China.
