District Administration Cracks Down on Illegal Gas Refilling, Seizes 9 Cylinders

Udaipur, March 14: The district administration is on high alert to prevent the commercial misuse of domestic gas cylinders and illegal refilling. Under the direction of District Collector Namit Mehta, the supply department, led by District Supply Officer (Second) Manish Bhatnagar, conducted a raid on Friday in the Madri Industrial Area, exposing illegal operations.

Supply Officer Bhatnagar reported that the team received a tip-off about illegal gas transfers from one cylinder to another near the CWC warehouse. Recognizing the seriousness of the information, District Supply Officer Manish Bhatnagar and Enforcement Officer Mansi Pandya conducted an unannounced inspection at the site.

During the operation, the team caught individuals in the act of illegal refilling and seized nine commercial gas cylinders. According to officials, the commercial use of domestic gas not only violates regulations but also poses significant safety risks. The District Supply Officer stated that a case has been registered under the Essential Commodities Act of 1955.

The department has issued a stern warning that similar strict actions will be taken against individuals involved in illegal refilling and gas misuse. They have also urged the public to report any instances of illegal gas cylinder refilling or commercial use of domestic gas to the control room, ensuring timely action can be taken.
