45th Collective Marriage Ceremony for Differently-Abled Kicks Off with Ganesh Installation

Udaipur, March 15:

The 45th free collective marriage ceremony for differently-abled and underprivileged youth commenced with great enthusiasm at the Narayan Seva Sansthan‘s Seva Mahatirth in Liyon Ka Guda on Saturday. A total of 51 couples, including 25 differently-abled and 26 able-bodied pairs, will tie the knot in this heartfelt event, attended by over 700 guests from various states across the country.

The ceremony began with the auspicious installation of Ganesh and a traditional dance, “Ghar Mein Padharo Gajanand Ji.” Following this, the customary rituals of haldi and mehndi filled the venue with joy and festivity.

At 11:15 AM, all 51 couples dressed in yellow took their places on the stage adorned with yellow flowers in the Hada Sabhagar. The founder-chairman of the institute, Padma Shri Kailash ‘Manav,’ co-founder Kamla Devi, president Prashant Agarwal, and directors Vandana Agarwal and Palak Agarwal officially inaugurated the marriage ceremony with the installation of Ganesh alongside distinguished guests.

Under the guidance of directors Vandana Agarwal and Palak Agarwal, guests participated in applying haldi and mehndi to the couples. The atmosphere turned vibrant as attendees danced to songs like “Aaye Hai Meri Zindagi Mein Bahar” and “Mhari Mehndi Ko Rang.”

The ceremony also honored special guests, including Vijaya Kumari from Delhi, Trishal Sharma from South Africa, Mahiraj from Mauritius, and Prasanna Kumar Raut from Odisha, with traditional turbans and mementos presented by Kailash ‘Manav,’ Prashant Agarwal, Jagdish Arya, and Devendra Chaubisa.

The first day concluded with a captivating evening of women’s music and dance. The audience was enthralled by performances based on Radha-Krishna, Rudravatar Hanuman, the nine forms of Durga, and the epic tales of Lord Ram.

Prashant Agarwal, the president of the institute, announced that on Sunday at 11:15 AM, all couples would enter married life by taking seven vows around the sacred fire, following Vedic rituals. Each couple will receive essential household items as gifts from the institute.

Every Couple Has a Story, Every Story is an Inspiration

A unique aspect of this collective marriage is that each couple brings their own story of struggle, courage, and hope. Some have not succumbed to physical challenges, while others have kept their dreams alive despite social and economic hardships. These stories convey a powerful message: life has no limits, and true identity lies in resilience. Thus, this collective marriage ceremony transcends mere celebration; it becomes a festival of humanity, self-confidence, and new beginnings.
