Ashok Gehlot Accuses BJP of Horse Trading in Rajasthan

Jaipur, April 25: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has launched a fierce attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of toppling governments through horse trading in various states, including Rajasthan. Speaking to the media in Jaipur on Friday, Gehlot stated that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and BJP state president Madan Rathore have repeatedly targeted the Congress party with their statements.

Gehlot emphasized that BJP leaders are attempting to provoke him into mentioning Sachin Pilot‘s name and insinuating that “these people went to Manesar,” aiming to reignite conflicts within Congress. He asserted that this is the BJP’s intention, but Congress remains united. Gehlot remarked, “I hold them responsible. How many people did you engage in horse trading with? Did you leave out the people of Rajasthan?”

He pointed out that due to the BJP’s actions, Congress legislators had to stay in a hotel for 34 days. Gehlot attributed this situation to the misdeeds of BJP leaders, stating that the public is aware of the truth. While he acknowledged Congress’s electoral setbacks, he accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of spreading falsehoods during the elections.

Gehlot further criticized the BJP for lacking faith in democracy. He noted that incidents occurring in several states, including West Bengal, are being observed nationwide. He warned that if the younger generation fails to grasp the current state of the country in time, everyone will face the consequences.

Regarding Raghav Chadha’s entry into the BJP, Gehlot accused the party of misusing central agencies. He claimed that the BJP is systematically undermining democracy and weakening democratic institutions across the nation. Gehlot recalled that the BJP had previously harassed Raghav Chadha.

He mentioned recent raids on Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal’s premises and the involvement of other MPs in a purported liquor scam. Gehlot alleged that all investigative agencies are under BJP control, and these events are unfolding before the entire country.

Gehlot concluded by stating that Modi and Amit Shah are under the illusion that their political dominance will persist, but this illusion will soon shatter. He accused the BJP of engaging in politics under the guise of Hindutva, claiming they have not accomplished anything substantial other than inciting societal tensions. He described the BJP’s operational style as a ‘washing machine,’ where any leader who joins the party sees all their legal troubles vanish. Gehlot alleged that the BJP has toppled governments in several states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh, while also attempting to do so in Rajasthan.
