Bharatpur, June 19: The demand for central reservation by the Jat community in Bharatpur, Dhaulpur, and the newly formed Deeg district is gaining momentum once again. Former minister Vishvendra Singh made a significant statement, asserting that reservation is a right of the community and must be achieved at all costs. He emphasized that the people of Bharatpur, Dhaulpur, and Deeg are fully capable of fighting their own battle and currently do not require external leadership or support for this movement.
Vishvendra Singh remarked that Bharatpur has a rich history of valor. The local populace has fought many significant battles throughout history and emerged victorious. He stated that the dignity and self-respect of the community remain alive today. The residents of Bharatpur, Dhaulpur, and Deeg are fully equipped to fight for reservation at both state and central government levels.
He noted that there is no immediate need to call in outsiders for this movement. However, he clarified that if necessary, support from all political parties, representatives, and communities from other districts and states will be sought. Singh emphasized that this movement is tied to the rights and respect of the community, and therefore, it will proceed based on discussions and collective decisions.
Vishvendra Singh urged the elders, youth, and intellectuals of the community to maintain patience. He pointed out that the history of Bharatpur shows that significant movements are decided only after consensus and extensive discussions among the entire community. This time, any major decision will also be made after consulting the elders, youth, and responsible individuals.
He added that legal and constitutional processes regarding Jat reservation are being pursued vigorously. The state government has already sent recommendations to the central government for granting reservation to the Jats of Bharatpur, Dhaulpur, and Deeg. Now, it is up to Parliament to pass the necessary laws on this matter. He assured that the community will continue to struggle for its rights in a peaceful and democratic manner.
