Congress Leaders in Jaipur Discuss Election Preparations and Call for Chief Election Commissioner’s Resignation

Jaipur, September 27: A significant meeting of senior Congress leaders and long-time party workers took place on Sunday at the Maharaja Cafe, Birla Auditorium. The gathering focused on preparations for the upcoming Panchayat and Assembly elections, as well as the allocation of responsibilities within the party organization. A resolution demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar was also passed during the meeting.

Dr. Varun Purohit, who provided details about the meeting, mentioned that those who could not attend the first meeting on September 20 were given a chance to voice their opinions this time. Attendees emphasized the need to strengthen the Congress party and work under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. Discussions also revolved around strategies for improving the party’s performance in the upcoming elections.

A call for a review of appointments within the organization was made. Some speakers alleged that individuals with non-Congress ideologies were being favored within the party. It was decided to convey these objections to the Congress leadership. The need to focus on revitalizing the organization was highlighted, with calls for giving key responsibilities to individuals with a Congress background in various youth and service organizations.

Concerns were raised regarding the appointments made under the ‘Organization Creation’ initiative, particularly questioning the conduct of the city president. Dr. Purohit stated that he would address these issues with party leaders in Delhi. No documents supporting allegations against any individual were made public during the meeting.

The demand for Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation was unanimously passed, citing concerns over his performance and the dignity of democratic institutions. This reflects the grievances and demands of the attendees.

Participants also expressed their commitment to stand with Rahul Gandhi in his political struggles. The meeting considered organizing a state-level conference soon, although no date has been announced yet.
