Jaipur, October 7: The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee held a crucial meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming Panchayat elections. The meeting was attended by prominent leaders including former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, AICC General Secretary Sachin Pilot, Opposition Leader Tikaram Julie, and State In-Charge Sukjinder Singh Randhawa.
Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra shared updates on social media, emphasizing the party’s strategy as they gear up for the elections.
Dotasra criticized the BJP government, stating that instead of providing relief, it has burdened the public with inflation and unfulfilled promises. He referred to the current tenure as a “two-and-a-half-year rule,” noting that the BJP government has been in power since December 15, 2023, which marks nearly two years and ten months of governance.
“Now, in the Panchayat elections, the public will hold the government accountable for its misrule,” Dotasra asserted.
Voting for the Panchayati Raj institutions is set to commence this month. Due to the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, the election schedule has been revised, with the first three phases of voting moved up by one day. Voting will officially begin on October 22.
Ahead of the elections, the Congress party is actively raising concerns about administrative impartiality. Dotasra has previously alleged that candidates contesting in the Panchayat elections have received threats and has met with the DGP alongside the Opposition Leader to demand fair elections.
These developments highlight the Congress party’s commitment to ensuring a transparent electoral process in Rajasthan.
