Kota, October 13: Congress MLA and former minister Shanti Dhariwal visited the protesting JK factory workers outside the Kota Collectorate. The workers have been on strike for nearly a year, demanding the reopening of the closed factory and the payment of their pending wages.
Dhariwal listened to the workers’ concerns and assured them that he would raise their demands. The protestors have three main demands:
- Restart operations at the closed JK factory
- Pay the pending wages
- Resolve other outstanding issues
In his address, Dhariwal criticized the ruling BJP government, claiming that workers’ issues are not being taken seriously. “This is a government of capitalists and industrialists, indifferent to the struggles of poor laborers,” he stated.
He emphasized the need to respect the hard work and rights of laborers, asserting that the Congress party has always stood by them and fought against their exploitation.
Encouraging the workers, Dhariwal expressed confidence that their demands, including the payment of overdue wages, would eventually be met. He urged them to maintain unity and continue their struggle for their rights, reaffirming Congress’s commitment to protecting workers’ interests and restoring their rights.
During the meeting, he voiced his support for the workers’ demands, promising to stand with them in their fight for justice.
