Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena Challenges ACB Over Allegations

Jaipur, June 19: Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena visited the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) headquarters on Friday afternoon to address questions regarding an FIR linked to the arrest of former independent director of the Seed Corporation, Jugal Kishore. He expressed concerns about the mention of “doctor” and “minister” in the FIR, which he believes has created confusion among the public. Dr. Meena stated that since he holds both titles, the ACB should clarify who the doctor and minister referred to in the FIR are.

Dr. Meena arrived at the ACB headquarters around 4:15 PM but had to wait as the ACB’s Director General was not present. Speaking to the media, he asserted that if the investigation finds him guilty, he should be arrested. However, if he is innocent, the ACB must publicly clarify the situation. He claimed that political accusations are being made against him, aiming to tarnish his image.

The minister accused the ACB of operating under pressure and attempting to defame him. He noted that the way the news has been reported suggests that the actions are being used as a political weapon. He warned the ACB to maintain its integrity and boundaries in such matters.

Dr. Meena also raised concerns about a purported scam involving the Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation. He mentioned that the corporation’s chairman has sent seven letters to the ACB regarding this issue, yet after two years, from 2024 to 2026, the case remains pending under the guise of a preliminary investigation. He questioned why the ACB is not showing seriousness in such matters.

Additionally, he referred to alleged corruption in the Ram Pur Panchayat of the Mandrayal area in Karauli district. According to complaints, approximately ₹28 crore worth of projects were approved during the previous administration, but allegations suggest that nearly ₹26 crore was misused, with only about ₹1.75 crore worth of work completed. Dr. Meena claimed he had written to the ACB’s Director General about this issue, but no FIR has been filed yet.

Dr. Meena emphasized that he is at the ACB to question their operations and demand action on pending cases. He made it clear that if there is evidence against him, action should be taken. However, if his name is being linked merely due to confusion or political motives, the investigative agency should provide a public explanation.
