Warning of ‘Black Diwali’
Banners at the protest called for the announcement of the 2025-26 bonus and dearness allowance. The protestors warned that due to the government’s attitude, 700,000 employees and 500,000 pensioners would celebrate a ‘Black Diwali’. The federation claims to represent these 700,000 state employees.
This is Not Just About Ajmer
This protest is part of a larger movement across the state. On the same day, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to social media to express that employees and pensioners have been waiting for 10 months for pension benefits, gratuity, and PF payments. He urged the government to release a white paper on the financial situation and expedite pending payments, stating that this is why the employees’ federation has been compelled to protest at all district headquarters.
The memorandum indicates that the freeze on payments to retired employees has lasted six months, with no response from the state government regarding these demands.
Who Participated in the Protest?
The memorandum was signed by Kanti Kumar Sharma, the district president and divisional in-charge of the federation. The state president is Gajendra Singh Rathore, with the provincial office located at the State Central Printing Press on Sardar Patel Marg in Jaipur.
According to a press release, notable participants included Kanti Kumar Sharma, Bhagchand Yogi, Kailashchand Mehra, Jagdish Prasad Mahawar, Mohanlal Beelwal, and many others, representing a large number of employees.
This federation had previously honored the Ajmer Collector for outstanding work in August.
