Allegations of Ballot Theft Involve NSUI Leader Close to Gehlot, Says Rathore

Jaipur, November 2: BJP state president Madan Rathore has raised serious allegations against NSUI leader Sunil Chaudhary, who is reportedly close to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Rathore claims that Chaudhary’s name has emerged in connection with the theft of ballots from a polling booth in the Bilara Panchayat Samiti of Jodhpur district. He questioned Gehlot, asking if this is the model of democracy he wishes to promote across the country. Rathore criticized the Congress party, stating that it is hypocritical for them to protest against ballot theft when they are themselves embroiled in such allegations.
In a troubling incident, 150 ballots were reported stolen from a polling booth in the future Gram Panchayat. Of these, 149 ballots were returned, all marked for the same candidate, while one ballot remains missing. Two polling officials have already been arrested in connection with this case. The State Election Commission has decided to hold re-elections at all seven booths in the future Gram Panchayat on November 2.
Rathore also commented on the Congress rally at Ramleela Maidan in Delhi, labeling it a failure. He noted that while speeches were being delivered, many chairs remained empty. He accused Congress leaders of using social media to falsely portray a large crowd by sharing images of a gathering in Prayagraj, misleading the public about their turnout. Rathore questioned why Gehlot, a three-time Chief Minister, was sidelined during the Delhi protest.
He emphasized the need for verifying information before sharing it on social media, as misleading images and false information can mislead the public for political gain.
Rathore further stated that while Congress claims to protect democracy, it has historically dismissed state governments 93 times using Article 356 of the Constitution. He urged Congress leaders to reflect on their own democratic practices before accusing others.
The BJP state president concluded that the ballot theft incident raises significant questions about the integrity of the elections, and Congress must take responsibility. He asserted that public trust cannot be gained through slogans, protests, or misleading images.
