Ashok Gehlot Criticizes BJPs Marches as Futile Amidst Democratic Tensions

Jaipur, November 5: In a significant political commentary, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has highlighted a unique phenomenon in India’s democratic landscape: the emergence of a “ruling opposition.” This term refers to the ruling party itself staging protests and marches against opposition parties. Gehlot’s remarks come in response to the BJP’s ongoing “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” campaign, which includes a march scheduled for November 5 in Jaipur.
Gehlot took to social media platform X to express his astonishment at the current state of governance. He questioned whether the central and state governments have run out of work, as all ministers and chief ministers seem preoccupied with what he termed “futile marches.”
He further stated that the public is grappling with issues like inflation, unemployment, and corruption. Gehlot accused the BJP of panicking after allegations of vote theft and collusion with the Election Commission surfaced, prompting the party to divert attention through these marches.
The former Chief Minister criticized the BJP for attempting to disrupt the peaceful and disciplined movements of the INDIA alliance. He noted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has consistently advocated for a change in power through love and democratic means, contrasting this with the BJP’s tactics to create unrest.
The BJP’s march in Jaipur will commence from Ramleela Maidan and proceed to Tripolia Gate. It is expected to feature Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, with the party aiming to mobilize around 10,000 participants.
On the eve of the march, BJP state president Madan Rathore challenged Rahul Gandhi to debate in Parliament, asserting that the BJP is prepared to convene a special session to address the issue of anarchy and promote its “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” initiative across the nation.
