Congress Leader Calls for Judicial Inquiry into IAS Officers Allegations

Jaipur, November 3: Former minister and Congress leader Pratap Singh Khachariyawas has criticized the government regarding the allegations against IAS officer Shikhar Agarwal. He stated, “If the government retrieves the land worth 3,000 crores, all hospitals and schools will improve, and unemployed individuals will receive benefits.” Khachariyawas has demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter by a High Court judge.
He accused the government of being involved in various scams, including the 3,000 crore land deal related to Fun Kingdom, as well as allegations against Jewels of India and Anant Raj Group.
ACB Investigating Villa Purchase Case
Agarwal faces accusations of purchasing 40 villas and cottages in Alwar’s Ajabgarh and Udaipur’s Bujhda for approximately 6.15 crores over two and a half years, along with his IPS wife Prashakha Mathur and family members. They allegedly leased the same properties back to Goyal Fashions Private Limited for an annual fee of 1.80 crores. The company operates hotels and resorts under the name “Ananta.” Agarwal has claimed that he disclosed this purchase in his property returns.
Following the emergence of these allegations, the government removed Agarwal from all positions, including Additional Chief Secretary of the Industry Department, on the night of October 28. Prashakha Mathur was also subsequently removed. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a preliminary inquiry against Agarwal on October 31, and the government approved the investigation. The personnel department has issued a show-cause notice, demanding a response within a week, and has suspended any investment incentives to Goyal Fashions until the investigation concludes.
