BJPs Madan Rathore Advocates Respectful Opposition Language Amidst Political Tensions

Jaipur, October 28: BJP state president Madan Rathore emphasized that while the opposition has the right to criticize the government, it is crucial to maintain decorum in political discourse. He stated that the use of inappropriate language undermines political dignity. Rathore urged political parties and leaders to exercise restraint in their word choices and avoid vulgar or disrespectful terms.
He noted that some individuals forget their limits when selecting words, leading to public discontent. “Those lacking sound arguments resort to indecent language. The public is watching and evaluating the conduct of every leader. In due time, they will respond accordingly,” Rathore remarked.
In response to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s comments about rebellion to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rathore expressed concern. He stated that such remarks raise serious questions about democratic values. He pointed out that the individual speaking at Kharge’s event was also a Congress member, who suggested that rebellion was necessary to oust Modi. Rathore highlighted the toxicity of such sentiments and the individuals perpetuating them.
Rathore affirmed that organizing rallies and peaceful protests is a democratic right for all citizens and political parties, but these actions must remain within the bounds of discipline and law. He accused Congress of yearning for power without it, attempting to create an atmosphere of chaos and rebellion. “In a democracy, power is earned through public trust, service, and electoral mandate, not through rebellion and disorder,” he added.
He also raised questions regarding Sonia Gandhi‘s citizenship and the allegations of vote theft by Congress. Rathore insisted that Congress should clarify its stance on matters related to the voter list and citizenship. He noted that Sonia Gandhi’s voter ID was issued before she acquired Indian citizenship, calling it a case of vote theft.
Regarding the issue of names being removed from the voter list during the Special Inquiry Report (SIR), Rathore stated that those affected should come forward to clarify their positions, ensuring the truth is revealed. He accused Congress of creating confusion and noise over the name removals.
Finally, he addressed the controversy surrounding Kharge’s statement in Patna, where he responded to a crowd member’s comment about Modi not leaving, saying, “Even Modi’s father will leave.” BJP workers protested in Jaipur, burning Kharge’s effigy in response. Congress defended Kharge, claiming that a BJP worker had insulted Kharge’s deceased father during the speech.
