
Jaipur, October 3: The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee has established a nine-member inquiry committee to investigate complaints related to the 2026 municipal elections. According to an office order issued by state president Govind Singh Dotasra on October 2, the party received various complaints from several municipal bodies, including Bhilwara, Pali, and Bharatpur. The committee has been tasked with compiling these complaints and conducting a detailed factual investigation, with a report due within seven days.
Dr. C.P. Joshi, a former assembly speaker, has been appointed as the committee’s chairperson, while Ramsingh Kaswa will serve as the secretary. Copies of the order have also been sent to AICC organization general secretary K.C. Venugopal and state in-charge Sukjinder Singh Randhawa.

Election Results in the Mentioned Districts
The order specifically mentions Bhilwara, Pali, and Bharatpur. The results at the ward level in these districts are as follows:
– Bhilwara: Total wards 113, BJP 25, Congress 16, Independents 6
– Pali: Total wards 103, BJP 20, Congress 16, Independents 5
– Bharatpur: Total wards 72, BJP 35, Congress 6, Independents 15
In Bhilwara and Pali, Congress secured 102 wards each, finishing in second place. However, Bharatpur tells a different story, where Congress managed to win only 15 out of 235 wards, while independents claimed 152 wards, placing Congress in third position.
Across the state, in 309 municipal bodies with a total of 10,244 wards, the BJP won 4,182 wards, while Congress secured 3,619, and independents took 2,273 wards.
Notice Issued to Vishvendra Singh
The order was issued on the same day that the party’s disciplinary committee sent a show-cause notice to former minister Vishvendra Singh. He has been questioned regarding ticket distribution in Bharatpur and Deeg, and the district is among those mentioned in the inquiry committee’s order. Both parties have been given seven days to respond.
