Tonk, June 13: During a religious event held in the Syala-Sukhpura village of the Devli-Uniyara assembly constituency, Naresh Meena, leader of the Bhagat Singh Sena and a prominent farmer activist, addressed pressing issues concerning farmers, social harmony, and the political landscape of the state. He emphasized the need to fight for the rights of farmers and the general public rather than spreading discord among communities.
Naresh Meena highlighted that the ongoing debate regarding the Panchna Dam water issue has become a focal point in the state. He warned against individuals attempting to incite conflict between the Gurjar and Meena communities over this matter. He urged caution against leaders who seek to gain political advantage by pitting communities against each other. According to him, critical issues like water should be resolved through dialogue, understanding, and social coordination.
He stated that if there is a need to struggle, it should be for the rights of farmers and the general populace. Meena reiterated that his political mission is to unite communities rather than divide them. He declared, “If necessary, I will beg for water, but I will never work to pit communities against each other.”
On the water crisis, he suggested that residents in the upper regions of the dam should receive water through a lift system. Additionally, farmers and villagers in the command area should also receive their fair share. He pointed out that while water from the Bisalpur Dam reaches Jaipur and Ajmer, many residents in the Devli-Uniyara area still lack adequate water supply, which is a significant concern.
Meena also referenced the political dynamics in the Hadoti region, asserting his fight to liberate the area from the influence of a few select leaders. He accused those lacking broad public support of falsely claiming to represent the farming communities. He called on farmers to remain aware, organized, and vigilant regarding their rights.
He expressed his belief in fostering unity and strengthening brotherhood among communities. Farmers should organize democratically to fight for their rights, ensuring their voices reach the government and administration effectively.
The event was attended by former Assembly Deputy Speaker Ramnarayan Meena, along with various local representatives, social activists, and villagers.
