Haryana Weather Alert: Rain Likely in 12 Districts Today, Temperatures Rise Slightly But Stay Below Normal

Bhiwani, May 8, 2025 The INDIA Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for 12 districts of Haryana today, as the state enters a four-day spell of variable weather expected to last through May 11. Cloud cover, thunderstorms, and winds blowing at 30–40 km/h are likely to affect multiple regions, especially in the north and east of the state.

Rain Expected in 12 Districts Today

According to the IMD, the following districts have up to a 25% chance of rainfall on May 8:

  • Panchkula

  • Ambala

  • Yamunanagar

  • Kurukshetra

  • Kaithal

  • Karnal

  • Mahendragarh

  • Rewari

  • Gurugram

  • Faridabad

  • Mewat

  • Palwal

Other regions including Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, and Jhajjar are expected to experience clear skies.

Rain Forecast Through May 11

  • May 9: 10 districts including Hisar, Sirsa, Jind, and Kaithal may receive light showers.

  • May 10: Up to 50% rain probability in Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, and Kurukshetra, while 25% chance extends to 12 more districts.

  • May 11: Thunderstorms and light to moderate rain are likely in 7 western districts including Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, and Rewari.

Temperature Trends: Sirsa Hottest in the State

Despite the variable weather:

  • Haryana’s maximum temperature rose by 0.8°C on Wednesday.

  • The overall temperature across the state remains 4.3°C below normal.

  • Sirsa was the warmest, recording 37.3°C.

Meanwhile, light showers and hail were reported in parts of Rohtak and Bhiwani on Wednesday evening.
