
Udaipur, March 21: The Panch Gaurav scheme initiated by the Rajasthan government has led to a 15-day swimming training camp for selected athletes based on block-level talent searches. On the seventh day, the camp emphasized technical training and motivational sessions for the holistic development of the players.
District Sports Officer Mahesh Paliwal reported that the day began with morning exercises. Following this, athletes received practical training in advanced techniques of the breaststroke. The training session focused on arm action, leg movement, and dryland workouts. Additionally, there was intensive practice on the effective coordination of arm actions and kicking in the water, aimed at improving speed, balance, and efficiency. To assess the athletes’ speed and technical skills, a breaststroke sprint competition was also held at the end of the session.
The program featured the esteemed presence of experienced guests from various sports fields. Notable attendees included Vikram Singh Chandela (swimming coach and former district sports officer), Gajendra Singh Rathore (swimming coach and former district sports officer), Shakir Hussain (former district sports officer), Shivdan Singh Jolawas (Rajasthan Culture, Sports, and Language Conflict Committee), Vikram Singh Shekhawat (Chairman of the Basketball Association), and Karan Singh Shekhawat (international basketball player). The guests addressed the athletes, offering guidance on sports skills, discipline, and various aspects of building a future. Gajendra Singh Rathore highlighted the nuances of swimming techniques, encouraging athletes to practice continuously and seize competitive opportunities.
In his motivational speech, Vikram Singh Chandela urged athletes to set goals and advance in their sport with dedication. He emphasized that consistent effort, discipline, and determination are the keys to success, and that a bright future can be built through sports.
Shivdan Singh Jolawas underscored the importance of mentors and coaches, stating that a skilled coach recognizes an athlete’s potential and guides them in the right direction. He encouraged athletes to fully follow their trainers’ guidance and strive for excellence through regular practice.
The seventh day of the camp concluded successfully, marked by a blend of technical training, competitive practice, and inspiring dialogues, further strengthening the athletes’ confidence, skills, and dedication to their sport.
