RAJASTHAN, INDIA April 2025 In a major move to support traditional farming practices and boost rural livelihoods, the Rajasthan government has launched a new scheme offering ₹30,000 annually to farmers who use bulls for agricultural activities. The initiative aims to encourage the rearing and use of bull pairs in farming, amidst a rapid decline in their population due to mechanization.

This financial assistance will act as an incentive for farmers who continue to rely on animal-powered farming methods, helping them offset maintenance and operational costs.
Who Is Eligible for ₹30,000 Annual Support?
The ₹30,000 will be given only to those farmers in Rajasthan who meet the following criteria:
-
Must own a pair of bulls used for agricultural activities
-
Must be engaged in farming using bullock power
-
Must reside and operate in the state of Rajasthan
This step is being taken in response to the declining number of bulls, and the government hopes to revive traditional farming by supporting bull rearers.
How to Apply for the Scheme?
Farmers can apply for this incentive in two ways:
-
Visit the nearest e-Mitra center: Farmers can walk into their closest e-Mitra kiosk, where the operator will assist with the application process.
-
Apply online via the Raj Kisan Sathi Portal: This state-run digital platform allows farmers to register and apply for various schemes, including the bull-rearing incentive.
Once the application is submitted and verified, eligible farmers will receive the ₹30,000 assistance amount annually.
Scheme Complements Ongoing Central Assistance
This new Rajasthan initiative complements existing central government schemes like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which provides ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments of ₹2,000. So far, 19 installments have been issued to eligible farmers across the country under PM-KISAN.
By offering an additional ₹30,000 to bull-rearing farmers, the Rajasthan government seeks to enhance income support, preserve animal husbandry, and promote sustainable farming practices in rural areas.
