The monsoon has finally gained momentum across RAJASTHAN, bringing intense rainfall and thunderstorms to several regions. As heavy showers continue to lash the state, many areas are now facing flood-like conditions, creating concerns for both residents and farmers. The widespread rainfall, while offering relief from the heat, has also led to rising river levels and damage to infrastructure.
In a tragic incident, a 70-year-old wall collapsed due to rain in Mangrol, claiming the life of a child and injuring another. With more heavy rainfall expected, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for 28 districts, urging citizens to remain vigilant — especially in light of the risk of lightning strikes.
Districts Under Rain and Thunderstorm Alert
According to the IMD, a yellow alert for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms has been issued for the following districts: Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Jaipur, and Jhalawar.
In addition, heavy rain is expected in Jhunjhunu, Kota, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sikar, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Pali, and Sri Ganganagar.
An orange alert — indicating the potential for very heavy rain — has been issued for Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Karauli, Baran, and Bundi districts. Residents in these areas are advised to take extra precautions.

Rainfall data from the Meteorological Department reveals significant downpours across multiple locations:

Meanwhile, continuous showers were also reported in Alwar, Baran, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Kota, and Jaipur.
Precautions Advised
With rising concerns over flash floods, infrastructure damage, and crop loss, authorities have urged residents in affected districts to stay indoors when possible and avoid water-logged areas. Farmers, in particular, have been warned to take protective measures for their crops.
As the monsoon continues to sweep across Rajasthan, authorities remain on high alert to monitor the situation and ensure public safety.
