Tensions Rise in Rajasthan Congress Over Manesar Controversy

Jaipur, June 10: The political landscape of Rajasthan Congress is once again heating up over the Manesar controversy. Lokesh Sharma, a former officer on special duty to ex-Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has sharply criticized Gehlot’s recent statements, labeling him as the “biggest conspirator.” Sharma asserted that the allegations regarding a plot to topple the government and the Manesar incident are entirely fabricated, with no solid evidence presented to support these claims.

In a media interaction in Jaipur, Sharma stated that Gehlot’s recent remarks reflect his political desperation. He claimed that the Congress leadership is poised to assign a significant role to Sachin Pilot, which is why Gehlot is attempting to create a narrative through his statements. Sharma suggested that Gehlot is reviving old issues to keep political opposition against Pilot alive.

Sharma further demanded that if there is any evidence regarding the alleged conspiracy to bring down the government, it should be made public. He questioned why such evidence has not been presented to investigative agencies or the courts if it truly exists. He accused the political sphere of merely issuing statements over the years without providing substantial material to substantiate the allegations.

He noted that based on reports from investigative agencies and facts presented in court, some individuals have already received relief. Sharma claimed that the investigative reports submitted in court lacked sufficient evidence to support the allegations of a conspiracy to topple the government. This led him to question the repeated raising of the Manesar issue.

Sharma also mentioned that amid changing political equations within the Congress organization, some leaders are increasingly anxious. He alleged that such statements are emerging due to the potential for leadership changes and new responsibilities within the party. However, Gehlot has not yet responded to these allegations.

It is noteworthy that the political events of 2020 and the Manesar controversy have periodically sparked discussions within Congress. The resurgence of this issue has once again made the internal politics of Rajasthan Congress a topic of conversation.
