Voter Awareness Program in Sikar: Choose Representatives Beyond Caste and Religion

Sikar, October 26: State Election Commissioner Rajeshwar Singh emphasized the importance of voters choosing representatives who understand local issues and work actively in their communities, free from any inducements and beyond caste and religion. He made these remarks during a voter awareness program held at Sunrise School in Nechwa, Sikar district.
Voters can cast their votes not only with their voter ID but also by presenting one of the 11 other identification documents approved by the commission. Singh encouraged a spirit of sportsmanship among candidates, reminding them that while many contest elections, only one can win.
He also highlighted the necessity of maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood during elections. Elders should learn from the youth and foster social goodwill throughout the electoral process.
In the program, school students formed a human chain and conveyed the message of voting through placards and cultural performances. The State Election Commissioner administered the voter oath, flagged off the voter awareness rally, and planted a tree as part of the ‘One Tree for Democracy’ campaign.
District Election Officer Ashish Modi, Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Nain, Chief Executive Officer of the District Council and SWEEP In-Charge Rajpal Yadav, Sub-Divisional Officer Ashish Sharma, and Development Officer Roma Saharan were also present. The State Election Commissioner is on a tour of six districts, including Sikar, from October 26 to 31.
