Bhopal, February 11 : Madhya Pradesh has witnessed a significant decline in cold weather, with both daytime and nighttime temperatures rising over the past few days. Monday recorded a notable increase in temperatures, and the bright sunshine during the day made the warmth more noticeable.

In Guna, the temperature surged by 5.4°C in a single day, while Ratlam and Seoni recorded 33°C, and Mandla was the warmest at 33.5°C. Most cities experienced temperatures above 30°C, and this weather pattern is expected to continue for the next two days. However, according to the Meteorological Department, a new cold spell may begin on February 13.
Why is the Temperature Rising?
- On February 8, a Western Disturbance had moved over North INDIA, bringing cold northern winds to Madhya Pradesh. However, these winds have now subsided.
- A cyclonic system has developed near Rajasthan, altering the wind direction from north to south, preventing the inflow of cold air.
- As a result, day and night temperatures have increased across the state.
