Udaipur, Rajasthan In a significant step toward promoting sustainable mobility and entrepreneurship in India, The Institution of Engineers (India), Udaipur Local Centre is organizing a free, one-day capacity-building workshop on “Establishing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in India” on April 11, 2025. The workshop is being held under the TRUST EV Awareness Oath initiative, with participation from leading energy professionals, policy experts, and local stakeholders.

Empowering the Community to Build EV Infrastructure
The workshop will be conducted offline at The Institution of Engineers India, Udaipur Local Centre, Sector 11, and is open to individuals, startups, real estate developers, RWAs, hospitality businesses, and all others interested in establishing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS).
One of the key speakers, Er. Neha Sakka, Electrical Engineer (P&IA) at Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (JVVNL), will shed light on the national policy framework, viable business models, and technical requirements for setting up EV charging infrastructure.
“With EV charging now delicensed under the Ministry of Power’s 2024 Guidelines, this workshop provides a timely and practical opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs and infrastructure owners to understand how to enter this rapidly expanding sector,” said Er. Neha Sakka.
Policy Support and Economic Opportunities
The Government of India’s PM e-Drive Scheme and state-level incentives are actively encouraging the deployment of EV infrastructure. As part of the ongoing national shift toward green energy and decarbonization, EV charging is emerging as a lucrative opportunity, especially in fast-growing urban hubs like Udaipur.
Participants will gain valuable insights into:
-
Site selection and compliance norms
-
Technical and safety standards
-
Financial viability and return on investment
-
Partnership and funding models
This initiative is designed to demystify regulatory complexities and foster grassroots-level entrepreneurship in green infrastructure.
A Call to Action for Local Stakeholders
Udaipur’s involvement in such forward-looking initiatives reinforces its role as a regional leader in sustainable urban development. Organizers invite local media, educational institutions, tech startups, and infrastructure developers to attend and engage with the evolving EV ecosystem.
