April 18, 2025 — Menlo Park, CA — In a major enhancement to its popular messaging experience, WhatsApp has officially launched a new feature allowing users to create, organize, and share custom sticker packs directly within the app. This update is now rolling out globally on both Android and iOS platforms, removing the need for third-party sticker apps and giving users more freedom to personalize their chats.

Say Hello to Custom Stickers — Without Leaving the App
With this latest update, WhatsApp users can now curate their own custom sticker packs by selecting from their saved stickers and organizing them into folders with personalized names. The feature was previously limited to beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program but is now fully public.
A new pencil icon has been introduced in the sticker sheet, placed next to the GIF, avatar, and default sticker tabs. Tapping this opens the sticker pack creation tool, where users can select individual stickers and compile them into folders, complete with a custom name for easy access and organization.
How to Create a Custom Sticker Pack on WhatsApp
To create your own sticker pack:
-
Open WhatsApp and tap the emoji icon in the text box.
-
Select the sticker tab, then tap the pencil icon.
-
Choose stickers to include.
-
Tap the three-dot menu on the bottom left.
-
Select “Add to sticker pack” and assign a name.
Once created, the custom sticker pack appears within your sticker library, allowing for quick selection and reuse.
Share Entire Sticker Packs, Not Just One at a Time
In addition to creating sticker packs, users can now share an entire sticker pack at once, instead of sending each sticker individually. This is a much-awaited convenience for users who want to send themed packs to friends and family for events, inside jokes, or shared interests.
However, it’s worth noting that only user-created stickers can be grouped and shared in custom sticker packs. Stickers provided by WhatsApp’s default collection are excluded from this feature.
Available Now on Android and iOS
The feature is now live across both platforms, and users are encouraged to update WhatsApp via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to access it. Meta’s move aligns with its broader focus on enhancing personalization and boosting engagement on WhatsApp amid growing competition in the instant messaging space.
