Kharagpur, March 1: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dilip Ghosh announced the commencement of the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in West Bengal, emphasizing that the journey aims to bring about change and convey this message to the public.
In an interview with a news agency, Ghosh stated, “Assembly elections are approaching in Bengal. We are launching a ‘Parivartan Yatra’ for the people. The people of Bengal desire change.”
He mentioned that the yatra will feature leaders from both the state and the national BJP. Ghosh reiterated, “Prime Minister Modi has a clear message: if the BJP is given a chance in the state, we can transform its situation. This message will be communicated through the yatra.”
The BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ will kick off in Siliguri, covering regions such as Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and beyond. Following this, the yatra will extend to Navadwip, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Howrah-Hooghly, Medinipur, Purulia, and Bardhaman. The initiative will launch simultaneously across all nine divisions.
Public rallies will be held on March 1 and 2 in various divisions, marking the beginning of the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’. The main program is scheduled from March 5 to March 10, during which the yatra will cover an average distance of 100 kilometers daily.
Meanwhile, Dilip Ghosh expressed concern over the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. He noted that many countries are already engaged in warfare, and this new conflict is unfortunate. He remarked, “With Ramadan underway, the fighting and bloodshed are alarming. This violence must cease.”
Regarding the Special Identity Registration (SIR) process, Ghosh stated that the new voter list will exclude the names of deceased individuals. He claimed that in areas where TMC legislators have won, there is a significant number of fake voters. Post-SIR, these fraudulent voters will be removed.
