Russia Condemns US-Israel Actions in Iran, Warns of Civilian Consequences

Moscow, March 4: Russia has condemned the joint actions of the US and Israel against Iran, stating that the public continues to pay the price for this violence and will face further repercussions. The country accused the US of fabricating excuses for its attacks.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated during a press briefing on Wednesday that the alleged threats from Iran were used as a pretext to violently dismantle the constitutional order in an independent UN member state.

She accused the United States of no longer hiding its intentions to seek “regime change” in Iran.

Zakharova strongly condemned the attack on a girls’ primary school in the city of Minab, Iran, which resulted in the deaths of 165 individuals, mostly schoolgirls. She emphasized that targeting children in such incidents not only violates International Humanitarian Law but also directly assaults fundamental human values.

She noted that the Iranian administration is attempting to control the situation to prevent chaos. However, the worst consequences of military campaigns will ultimately be borne by the general populace, infrastructure, and the global economy.

The Russian spokesperson claimed that this incident is being largely ignored by Western nations. She pointed out that typically, when children die in conflicts, there is a strong global outcry, but such voices are notably absent in this case. She described this as an example of double standards.

Zakharova insisted that the escalating violence resulting in civilian casualties must be halted immediately, as it exacerbates the situation and increases regional instability. She called on all parties to exercise restraint and resolve the situation through diplomatic means to save innocent lives and prevent the conflict from spreading further.
