Nimbahera Additional District Judge’s Wife Dies in Train Washroom, Husband Waited at Station

Chittorgarh, March 5, 2026 (Daily Udaipur): A tragic incident was reported from RAJASTHAN’s Chittorgarh district where the wife of an Additional District Judge died while travelling in the Kacheguda–Bhagat Ki Kothi Express (17606). Doctors suspect the cause of death to be a sudden silent heart attack.

According to available information, Additional District Judge Rajkumar Chouhan of Nimbahera and his wife Usha Chouhan were travelling by train from Sojat to Nimbahera on Wednesday. The couple had reservations in different coaches and were seated separately during the journey.

Shortly before the train was about to reach Nimbahera station, Usha Chouhan reportedly called her husband and informed him that she was going to the washroom. When the train arrived at the station, Judge Rajkumar Chouhan got down and waited for his wife. However, she did not come out of the coach for a long time, which raised concern.

The worried judge immediately informed the railway police. After tracing the mobile phone location, it was found that Usha Chouhan’s phone was still inside the train. Efforts were made to halt the train at Mandsaur as well, but the washroom door could not be opened there.

Eventually, the train was stopped at Jaora station in Ratlam district where the coach was thoroughly checked. One washroom was found locked from inside, raising suspicion. GRPF personnel used cutters and other tools to break open the door, after which Usha Chouhan was found lying unconscious inside.

She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead after examination. In the preliminary assessment, doctors believe she suffered a sudden silent heart attack, leaving her no time to seek help.
