Udaipur, March 7, 2026 (Daily Udaipur): Rail services between Udaipur, Jaipur and Delhi will remain affected for the next few days due to technical upgrade and non-interlocking work underway at Kanakpura station yard in the Jaipur division. North Western Railway has changed routes of several trains and partially cancelled some services.

The disruption will mainly affect passengers travelling between Udaipur, Jaipur and Ajmer. More than 20 trains running towards cities such as Jodhpur, Bhopal, Agra Fort and Delhi are also impacted. However, three major trains connected to Udaipur are directly affected.
Intercity to Run Only Till Ajmer
Passengers travelling regularly between Udaipur and Jaipur are likely to face the most inconvenience. Train number 12991 Udaipur City–Jaipur Intercity Express will depart from Udaipur on May 9, 10 and 12, but it will operate only up to Ajmer. The service between Ajmer and Jaipur will remain cancelled on these dates.
Similarly, 12992 Jaipur–Udaipur City Intercity Express will originate from Ajmer instead of Jaipur on May 9, 10 and 12. Passengers travelling from Jaipur will have to arrange alternate transport to Ajmer.
Route Change for Long-Distance Train
The block will also affect long-distance trains. 19602 New Jalpaiguri–Udaipur City Express, departing on May 11, will run on a diverted route via Rewari–Ringas–Phulera instead of its regular route. Due to the diversion, the train will halt at Narnaul, Neem Ka Thana and Ringas stations.
Additionally, 09721 Jaipur–Udaipur City Special train will not halt at Kanakpura station on May 12.
Railway Advises Passengers to Check Train Status
Railway officials said the ongoing work at Kanakpura will impact several trains heading towards Ajmer, Delhi, Agra and Jodhpur. Some services may also run 1 to 3 hours behind schedule.
The Chief Public Relations Officer has advised passengers to check the latest train status and current location through the railway enquiry system or helpline before starting their journey to avoid inconvenience.
