Nagaur, May 29: Political tensions escalated in Kuchaman as supporters of the National Democratic Party (RLP) protested against BJP state president Madan Rathore‘s visit on Friday. RLP activists displayed black flags and shouted slogans, leading to a tense atmosphere that required police intervention. Authorities used mild force to disperse the protesters and detained nine individuals.
Madan Rathore was in Kuchaman to participate in a two-day training camp organized under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Training Campaign. As he arrived at the venue, RLP supporters, already present, began chanting slogans against the BJP government and showcased their dissent with black flags. Local administration and police quickly intervened, moving the demonstrators away from the event site to prevent any major clashes.
The recent political rhetoric between the BJP and RLP has intensified over disputes regarding land allocations in Bherana Dham and the RIICO area. Leaders from both parties have accused each other of exploiting the situation for political gain and misleading the public. This protest in Kuchaman is seen as politically significant amid the ongoing controversy.
BJP state vice president Jyoti Mirdha launched a sharp attack on Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal, alleging that the RLP attempted to politicize issues related to religious sentiments. She stated that the BJP government was already working to address the demands of saints and sages, but the RLP sought to capitalize on the situation for political advantage.
Mirdha also questioned Beniwal’s manner of speaking, suggesting that despite lacking representation in the assembly, he attempts to present himself as a chief minister. She criticized some of his public remarks as contrary to political decorum.
Additionally, BJP Nagaur district president Ramdhan Potalia recently accused Beniwal of using inappropriate language against Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. He emphasized that while everyone has the right to protest in a democracy, maintaining decorum in political discourse is equally important.
This incident in Kuchaman has once again brought the growing political rivalry between the BJP and RLP in Nagaur and surrounding areas into the spotlight. Analysts predict that tensions between the two parties may escalate further in the coming days.
