Jaipur, June 7: The Congress party has once again placed its trust in incumbent MP Neeraj Dangi for the Rajya Sabha elections from Rajasthan. After being declared a candidate for the second consecutive time, Dangi stated that the Rajya Sabha is not the personal fiefdom of any individual, but rather a position determined by the party leadership based on merit, work, and performance.
In a media interaction following his nomination, Dangi emphasized that the Congress leadership evaluated his work and performance over the past six years, granting him another opportunity. He noted that the leadership recognized his contributions as a regular party worker, which led to his re-nomination.
Dangi remarked that the final decisions in Congress are made by the high command, and the responsibilities assigned by the leadership are fulfilled with the support of the organization and workers. He expressed his commitment to meet the party’s expectations.
Responding to the potential strategy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding the elections, Dangi warned that if the BJP fields more than two candidates, it could face political repercussions. He asserted that the Congress legislative party is completely united, and there is no possibility of cross-voting.
When questioned about alleged factionalism within Congress and the absence of senior leader Sachin Pilot during the nomination, Dangi assured that he has full support from all senior leaders. He explained that Pilot was unable to attend for specific reasons, but his backing remains steadfast.
Dangi acknowledged the guidance and support he has received from several senior Congress leaders throughout his political journey. He specifically mentioned State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Leader of the Opposition Tikaram Julie, senior leader Bhawani Jitendra Singh, and Sachin Pilot, stating that their support has been consistent and will continue.
He emphasized that the Congress organization operates with a spirit of collective leadership. Together with the support of all senior leaders and workers, the party aims to strengthen itself and perform better in the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Dangi expressed confidence that Congress will face upcoming political challenges robustly, with all leaders working together to strengthen the organization.
