Jaipur, June 8: The arrest of Jugal Kishore Bishnoi, the appointed director of the Rajasthan State Seed Corporation, has intensified political tensions in Rajasthan. This follows a significant cash seizure by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) linked to Bishnoi. Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra has raised serious questions regarding Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena’s involvement and is demanding a fair investigation into the matter.
Dotasra pointed out that individuals previously seen accompanying the minister during departmental actions are now implicated in alleged bribery and illegal financial dealings amounting to millions. He questioned how officials associated with the minister could dare to accept such large sums of money and emphasized the need to uncover the ultimate destination of these funds and the protection behind them.
He insisted that it must be clarified whether this scandal reaches high levels of government or if the agriculture minister was entirely unaware of the alleged corruption. Dotasra accused the state of fostering a model of corruption that adversely affects both farmers and traders. He claimed that raids and actions were used to intimidate traders, allegedly exerting financial pressure to collect money.
Describing the situation as “robbery under government protection,” Dotasra asserted that the public has the right to know who is shielding such activities involving seed and fertilizer businesses. He clarified that his aim is not to demand anyone’s resignation but to bring the truth to light.
Notably, just a day prior, Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena publicly stated that he would resign if any corruption allegations against him were proven. Following Dotasra’s recent statements, the issue has gained further political traction.
It is worth mentioning that the ACB recently seized a large amount of cash in a raid, and the investigation is ongoing. The agency is currently examining the sources of the funds, transactions, and the roles of those involved. As the investigation progresses, more significant revelations are anticipated.
