Kota, June 17: On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will arrive in Kota to engage with students and youth on pressing issues such as NEET, paper leaks, and recruitment examinations. His travel plans have been altered at the last minute. Initially, he was scheduled to travel by train to Kota and return to Delhi afterward, but now he will fly in via a chartered plane and return to Delhi on the same day.
Gandhi is expected to arrive in Kota around 6 PM. He will participate in the “Echo of Students” event at the Shri Ram Rangmanch, located at Dussehra Maidan. This event marks the launch of the Congress party’s nationwide campaign addressing the challenges faced by students and youth in competitive examinations.
The program will kick off with a music concert featuring pop singers Lashkari and Karma. Following the concert, Rahul Gandhi will engage directly with students and youth. The event is slated to run from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
According to the Congress party, Gandhi will address four key issues related to the examination system. These include decentralizing the NEET exam, abolishing examination fees, enforcing strict legal action against paper leak syndicates, and ensuring accountability in the examination process. The party emphasizes that the ongoing controversies surrounding paper leaks and recruitment have adversely affected the future of the youth, necessitating widespread public discussion and reform.
State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra stated that the change in travel plans was made with safety and time management in mind. He alleged that there were concerns about potential disruptions to opposition leaders’ events and possible delays in train operations, prompting the choice of a chartered flight.
Kota, recognized as a major hub for coaching and education in the country, is seen by Congress as a significant starting point for raising youth and student issues on a national platform.
