Jaipur, August 17: Badri Singh Rajawat, identifying himself as a BJP worker and RSS volunteer, has leveled serious allegations against Rajaram Gurjar, husband of former Jaipur mayor Soumya Gurjar, and others regarding a land dispute. Rajawat claims that after opposing the alleged construction of a road and installation of poles on his private land, he and his family have faced continuous harassment. He has demanded a fair and high-level investigation into the matter.
Rajawat made these allegations during a press conference at a resort in Kanakpura, Jaipur, where Congress leader Rajendra Singh Gudha was also present.
He accused Rajaram Gurjar, Sandeep Bakshi, and some influential individuals of constructing a road and installing poles on his land overnight, just four days prior. Rajawat asserts that upon inquiry, it became clear that the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) had no involvement in this work. However, these allegations have not been independently verified.
Threats of Bulldozers Over Protests
Rajawat alleged that after questioning the road construction, reports were filed against him and his family members, and they were threatened. He claimed that threats were made to demolish the homes of his grandfather and his six brothers’ families.
He stated that attempts were made to intimidate his family, with abusive language used in front of underage children and towards the women in the household. Rajawat emphasized that he will not succumb to pressure and will continue his legal battle for justice. He mentioned receiving a call from the police station regarding the case.
Discussion with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat
Rajawat also reported having a conversation with Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat about the entire issue. He claims that Shekhawat assured him that he would not be subjected to injustice. Rajawat explained that the disputed land pertains to his grandfather and his six brothers, totaling approximately three bighas.
Claims of Court Stay in 2019 and Road Construction in 2026
Rajawat provided background on the dispute, stating that he obtained a stay from the court against the JDA in 2019, which halted the road construction. He alleges that despite this, a road was constructed again in 2026 at the same location. He has demanded an investigation to determine who authorized or permitted the road’s construction in 2026 and what the JDA’s official records indicate regarding the land and road.
He claims to possess documents from Google Maps from 2016 to 2025, showing that no road existed at the disputed location. Additionally, he has other documents and reports related to the land dispute that could clarify the actual situation.
Lawsuit Against Family Over Alleged Road Damage
Rajawat stated that a lawsuit was filed against him and his family members for allegedly damaging the road they are questioning the legality of. He argued that if the dispute is about the land and road, the investigation should be based on revenue and JDA records, land documents, court orders, and the actual situation on the ground.
He also alleged that despite appearing in court as required, a second lawsuit was filed against him, labeling him as absconding. He questioned why he was considered absconding when he had complied with legal procedures and demanded an investigation into this aspect.
Concerns for the Common Man
Rajawat remarked, “I am a BJP worker and an RSS volunteer. If my family can be treated this way in Jaipur, what will happen to the common man? If such things happen to an ordinary citizen, where will they voice their concerns?”
He has called for a high-level and impartial investigation into the entire matter, including the original land documents, JDA records, the alleged court order from 2019, and Google Maps documents from 2016 to 2025.
