BJP Challenges Rahul Gandhi to Debate in Parliament Amidst Political Tensions

Jaipur, November 4: The BJP has issued a challenge to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, urging him to come to Parliament for a debate. Madan Rathore, the BJP state president and MP, stated that if Gandhi has the courage, he should engage in discussions within the parliamentary framework. The BJP is prepared to convene a special session of Parliament to address various issues, including EVMs, SIR, and illegal immigration, emphasizing that Parliament is the best platform for voicing public concerns in a democracy.
Rathore criticized Gandhi’s challenge for a debate, suggesting that it is inappropriate coming from someone who avoids Parliament. He remarked that since Gandhi became the Leader of the Opposition, he seems more like a “leader of propaganda” than a genuine opposition leader. Rathore accused Gandhi of making baseless claims and seeking media attention through false allegations.
In a broader context, Rathore warned that if decisions begin to be made on the streets, it would lead to chaos rather than democracy. He referenced Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s prediction that democratic decisions must occur in Parliament, asserting that the BJP is running a nationwide campaign titled “Save Democracy, Eliminate Chaos” to counter such disorder.
Rathore also recalled historical instances where the Congress party resorted to underhanded tactics during the first elections post-independence, alleging that they have a history of deceit. He likened their actions to the saying, “The cat goes to Hajj after eating a hundred mice,” indicating their hypocrisy.
This political exchange comes after Rahul Gandhi challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a debate on any platform within 24 hours. In response, Union Home Minister Amit Shah invited Gandhi to demonstrate his courage by debating in Parliament. Rathore previously targeted Gandhi in Banswara, advising him to focus on his party’s responsibilities, as chaos will not lead to power.
Additionally, the BJP is organizing a foot march in Jaipur on November 5 concerning SIR, which will feature Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, culminating in a public meeting at Ramleela Maidan.
